At age 38, he spoke the following words in a sermon.
“You may be 38 years old, as I happen to be. And one day, some great opportunity stands before you and calls you to stand up for some great principle, some great issue, some great cause. And you refuse to do it because you are afraid…. You refuse to do it because you want to live longer…. You’re afraid that you will lose your job, or you are afraid that you will be criticized or that you will lose your popularity, or you’re afraid that somebody will stab you, or shoot at you or bomb your house; so you refuse to take the stand.
Well, you may go on and live until you are 90, but you’re just as dead at 38 as you would be at 90. And the cessation of breathing in your life is but the belated announcement of an earlier death of the spirit.”
Wow. That inspires & cuts me to the core. Am I really alive or just existing?
Yesterday I turned 38, so this has special meaning to me ~ to live with the purpose to pursue Jesus & dare to go to extreme measures to love people! I pray you too are inspired to live above the fear of failure and fear of man, but instead go ALL-IN every single day to make a difference in someone else’s life. We get ONE shot at this life, lets live it fully alive, fully aware & fully engaged!
Let’s tell our fears where to go, and stand up for those who can’t stand for themselves, to fight for justice, to defend the helpless, to love the lonely… and dare to truly LIVE!
If you’re looking for some ways to show extreme love, I just happen to know of a few.

Ps. Two weeks ago, my husband lost his job which accounted for 85% of our income. Fear has tried to creep in, but we are endeavoring to see this through the lens of necessary change & an opportunity to more fully live out of what the Lord has called us to do & be. For many years, there’s been a stirring in us to somehow do hands-on ministry full time, not in a church building, but outside of it – where the people are, where the need for love & acceptance abound. So perhaps this is our chance? Could this closed door really mean God is about to open up a big ole window? I ask that you pray for us, pray that we live not out of fear, but can use this time to really hear & follow His leading into the unknown. Thx Peeps!
